Instead of skylights, ceiling air conditioners are installed on the roof of your caravan or motorhome. It's an ideal place for air conditioning because you won't waste any space in your caravan or motorhome. A roof air conditioner quickly cools your caravan or motorhome with its cooling system. The air conditioner draws in the hot air that rises to the surface, cools it and returns the cold air to the caravan. Cool air descends quickly and this system works very well because the air conditioner is on the roof of the caravan or motorhome. You can buy a good ceiling air conditioner for 1000€.

Advantages and disadvantages of roof air conditioner

+ Convenient space -saving + No complicated installations: almost always installed in 40 x 40 skylights, so there is no need to cut the roof

- Less daylight as you no longer have light from the skylight - Noisy: noise comes from outside - Take more into account the weight distribution of your caravan or motorhome

Trunk air conditioner

A chest air conditioner is installed on a sofa, bed or a storage area in a caravan or motorhome. Three cold air pipes are attached to the air conditioner and can then be laid throughout the caravan so that the cold is blown in three different places in the caravan. In this way, the cold air is distributed in the best way. It is preferable to install these diffusion points as high as possible, as this allows the room to be cooled more quickly. You can buy a trunk air conditioner for 1,295€.

Tip: Please note that cold air hoses must be purchased separately from the air conditioner.

Advantages and disadvantages of chest air conditioner

+ When mounted close to the axle, it has less effect on weight distribution + You choose where to place the nozzles + Sunlight protection

- Lots of assembly work for both air conditioner and cold air piping

Portable air conditioner

Don't see the point of installing a box or rooftop air conditioner inside or on your caravan? In this case, you can always choose a portable air conditioner. Of course, you may not go camping often, or you may find installing a trunk or roof-mounted air conditioner too complicated. The mobile air conditioner is not only suitable for your caravan or motorhome, it can also be used, for example, in a smaller room of the house. You can buy a mobile air conditioner for 219€.

Advantages and disadvantages of mobile air conditioner

+ Cheaper than a rooftop or box air conditioner + Mobile, so can be used at home for example + Plugged in and ready to use

- It is quite noisy - There must always be an air pipe for air discharge to the outside - Limited cooling - The condensation tray should be changed frequently

A trunk or rooftop air conditioner is definitely a good investment that you will enjoy for a long time to come. You don't go camping often in hot countries and just need an occasional refreshment? Then it is more advantageous to choose a mobile air conditioner.
